My dogs are barking

April 21, 2015

Temp today was 20c or 68f with not a cloud in the sky. Again! My distance tracker was having trouble inside buildings but I probably logged 10 miles on foot. The weather was just too nice. One of the greatest signs I’ve seen on London street is: Or Left as needed.  A very handy reminder […]

V&A

April 20, 2015

Right next to the NHM is the Victoria & Albert Museum. Since had not planned to see it, I had no idea what to expect. One room was filled with  intricate religious carvings   Others with amazing statuary. And still others with casts of ancient sculptures. Such as Trajan’s Pillar which just happened to be […]

This one is for my young nephew Ben

April 20, 2015

I call him The Mountain.  Not because he is big, although he is tall, but in Gaelic Ben, I think, means mountain.  Ben not only likes dinosaurs, but has been a near expert from before he could read.  I love the story when in second grade or so he had to do show and tell. […]

Princes Street Gardens

September 25, 2011

After draining Nor Loch a habitually polluted artificial loch, the Gardens were begun in 1770.  But I wondered how they could cut such steep lawns. This mower floats.  No wheels it just hovers and with each pas the Groundskeeper simple lets out more line.

Edinburgh

September 25, 2011

I love this city.  Spent some time ago in the National Gallery.  Sorry, no photos allowed.  But the newly reopened Museum of Scotland was totally bonkers in the best way. I spent hours there and could do so many times more.  Look at this eclectic melange.

On to Plockton

September 23, 2011

I got a lift to Mallaig from one of the Hotel staff heading there for errands.  She was cute enough to remind myself what an old geezer I am. Arriving in Armadale, Skye.   Then a bus to Kyle of Lochalsh and the local school bus to Plockton Just a couple of days in Plockton […]
