Pouring out, but only a mile or so from Charing Cross rail station to my Renfrew St Guest house. After I took a nap in the lounge whilst awaiting the 2PM check in, I dropped my kit in the room and went out to see what’s around the neighborhood. The Heritage is a typical UK kitsch shop but thankfully, without the Jimmy hats with the fake red hair in the windows.

Scott Street has been pointed out in previous posts as the hardest to walk street in theUK but Garnet St is pretty close.  I mean if you have to put a hand rail to navigate the street, maybe it’s in the wrong place.

A stop in Tesco gave me some supplies. Needed to stock up with my typical travel dinner/snack. When the day starts with a full breakfast, like tomorrow, this might be dinner for a couple nights (part of the reason, in addition to walking, I’ve lost 37# over 38 months!). My internal clock is askew so I’ll crash early and will be on UK time in the am. No haggis yet.

TV in the background has the show “Britain Beneath Your Feet ” is on.  Fascinating.  Can it be seen in the US?
