Brixham

by WBlackwell on January 31, 2019

Across the Torbay Bay is the village of Brixham and having never been there I decided to do a little rectifying. The high point, literally, is Berry Head so I headed there.  Looking across to Torquay and then eastward.

Old fortifications remain

I took a 2 mile wrong turn and had to round that point below to find a way up or out.

Lots of times  you hear the thought “Never Forget!” Well, in this country they make sure no one ever will forget.

Replica of Sir Francis Drake’s Golden Hind. Don’t tell anyone but there’s one in London too!

The Statue of William of Orange is to commemorate, for better or worse, the Glorious Revolution and his landing on English soil to the take up the crown recently left empty by James II.

Craic was good at the end of the day but the Doom Bar was better
