Temple of the Muses

by WBlackwell on December 6, 2022

Only an ass would eat dry hay in a field of green grass.

Google maps after the bus but I was totally unaware of this monument. .

Aside from wondering why there was a footbridge here, what is that?

David Steuart Erskine, 11th Earl of Buchan (1742-1829), was admirer of  The Poet but really liked the work of James Thompson. Bizarre, haunting, & very cool!

Layers of history embedded in strata.

After the Muses I spotted a sign indicated I should go uphill. William Wallace was 6’7″ and carried a very, very big sword. The statue was twice that here in the middle of nowhere.

William’s view.

Now where’s that Abbey?
